New Scarf!

Check out this scarf from The Limited (the limited is not a sponsor...I don't have any sponsors....but if you would like to drop me a five...please do!).

It's like a big knitted bracelet for your neck!  Have you ever had it happen that you think you wrapped your scarf all the way around only to find out that part of it is dragging behind you....maybe I am just dumb...but yea that's happen to me...well this would keep me from being dumb like that.  It's $39.50...too much for me...but I am sure a knock off will come out soon enough (told u, the limited was not a sponsor!) and I will be right there with my $10 in hand ready to purchase it!

By the way, I saw this on Oprah on Monday (like I said...I love me some Oprah!).

Obama Day!

Happy OBAMA day!!!

A year ago...we got hope.

Let's celebrate in whatever way possible!

LOL, I love this man!  Why?  Come back Friday to find out!

Moving on Up!

So my apt lease is up at the end of Nov.  Only 4 weeks away.  When I first moved into my studio I only signed a 6 month lease.  The reason I did this was because I was thinking of possibly buying my own place.  With the government's first time buyer's incentives it seemed like the right time to buy.

I have really thought about this ...and after much deliveration I decided that right now is NOT the right time for ME to buy a place.  I thought of how much my life would change...on a day to day basis ...for example all the little pleasures I would have to give up.  Among those little pleasures is the security of being able to afford my rent!

Anyways..I didn't want to stay in the same studio I am at now because it's in the first floor next to the building's parking lot...so I get freaked out that someone is going to come in through a window...that spmeone is peeking in...I can't even open my windows...so that means NO SUNSHINE (ugh this is a BIG no no for me!)!

My Solution...to move up!  Two floors up!  I absolutely love Evanston!  I like that it's close to work, that it's next to the lake, that it's quiet, that starbucks is in the next block...so I need to stay here!

I was lucky enough to find another studio in this building but in the 3rd floor!  Hello SUNSHINE!  The studio will be a little more $, but it was just refurnished (new appliances, new carpet, new flooring, new fixtures, and two walk in closets!).

Here are some pics I quickly snapped when I went to check it out!  (I can't wait to move [inser squeal here!] )

What?!  A Kitchen!? This is huge...compared to what I have now!

Bedroom :)

Now for the FUN part....the DECOR!  (coming soon!)

Halloween 2009!

The goal for this Halloween was to dress up as something fun and budget friendly!  Let me say...
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Last year, my lovely BF and I spent more than necessary on a Keg and Beer Girl outfits...only to use them once!

It was a good time...but this year we didn't want to spend that kinda $.

After talking to some girlfriends I decided on a blonde bombshell...but not just any bombshell....Read on and you will see.

On Thursday (after my close week ended), we headed to JoAnn's Fabrics (friend's reccomendation) to find "something" cheap....This is what I found:

Only $5!!!

On Friday evening the transformation began ( I was attending a Hollow Eve Party) .... Eyeshadow..check!  Eyeliner...check!  Eyelashes...check!  Red Lipstick...check! and done!

Pre-Party! (at home photoshoot...trying not to look too goofy and more sweet than tranny)

At Party!

So who was I???

Dolly Parton!!!!

I had so much fun!  Cheers to another fun Halloween!  I had so much fun that I "opted" for not going out on Saturday (actual Halloween) and instead slept 14 hrs....I think that's a record even for me!

Also...on Monday...I had to take all these to make me feel a little better...

I am not completely blaming it on the "fun" but also on the weather...I was feeling a little feverish...that's my story and I am sticking to it!

Here are some more pics taken by "Little Red Riding Hood"  AKA...Yols!
All in all...it was a great time and the best part...I only spent $5!  (Thanks Jackie!)

Month End: Busy, Busy, Busy.

This past week I didn't post much because of my busy schedule at work.  I work in the accounting department of a food company so month end is really busy.  I start working on Sunday at noon and don't finish until Wednesdsay at 8pm.  During these days I don't get home until midnight, but only to go back the next day at 8 am.  On Thursday, I am back at my desk at 9 am and get out at 5pm...by that time all I want is to sleep!  It usually takes me the whole weekend to recooperate....EXCEPT for this weekend...because it was Halloween weekend!!!!  (more to come on the next post!)

I found this online....and this is what could very much happen with me by Wednesday...ironically enough....Wednesday is when we book the most importand entry of the week (the production and consumption)!
